Are we a good fit?

One 30-minute call is usually enough to know. Here's how I think about it before we get there — so you can decide for yourself whether this is worth a conversation. Honest both ways: if I'm not the right person, I'll tell you on the call, and I'll usually know someone who is.

Senior. Broad. Fast.

Three things I promise on every engagement. If any one of these isn't what you need, we're probably not the right match.

Senior enough to run the work.

I've led engagements from rollout to revenue unlock. You won't be handing me a playbook or supervising the judgment calls — that's what you're hiring.

Broad enough to cover the spread.

Operations, project management, sales, marketing, admin, internal tools, web and software, media. One senior operator across the full range — not a compromise.

Fast without dropping quality.

No onboarding tax. No discovery phase. No handoffs. Week one is building. First deliverable in five business days.

Green lights

The right fit is usually obvious on the first call.

If two or three of these sound like you, we should talk. You don't need to match all six — they're the patterns that show up in the clients I do my best work for.

    You're a founder or operator on a lean team.

    Five to fifty people is the sweet spot. You wear too many hats and you're tired of it.

    You're stuck in a mess you know you can get ahead of.

    The work is there. The structure isn't. You need someone who can name the next move and then make it.

    You're not sure which tool or process to pick.

    CRM, billing, internal dashboards, sales ops, a rebuild — you want one person who can choose it and put it in, not a committee that maps options for a quarter.

    You're going through a transition.

    An ops overhaul, a platform rebuild, a new sales motion, a bridge while you hire. The work has a clear before and after.

    You need someone senior without the full-time hire.

    You want judgment and execution on the same person. You don't want to manage a junior, an agency, and three specialists at once.

    I work with payments companies, manufacturers, agencies, regional operators, and small mature businesses. The check doesn't have to come from a venture round.

When to walk

When I'll tell you I'm not the right fit.

A bad match wastes a month of pipeline for both of us. If any of these describe your situation, I'll say so on the first call and point you somewhere better when I can.

  1. You're running a procurement-driven process.

    Enterprise procurement cycles, vendor-onboarding gauntlets, and formal RFP responses aren't the shape of work I take on.

  2. You want a polished deck before a conversation.

    I'd rather spend that time on a working plan. If a pitch deck is the gating artifact, I'm not the right call.

  3. Your domain is legal or healthcare.

    Two industries I don't take on. The regulatory surface area deserves someone who lives in it — that isn't me.

  4. You need hourly billing.

    I work on retainer so the incentive is on outcome, not clocked time. If finance requires an hourly PO, we're not a match.

  5. The engagement requires Sunday availability.

    I'm responsive Monday through Friday, flexible after-hours for real emergencies. Sundays are off.

The first call

Thirty minutes. Six questions. A decision on the call.

No pitch, no slides, no homework. I listen for the shape of the work, the urgency, and who owns the outcome. These are the questions I'll actually ask — think on them before we talk and the call gets twice as useful.
